IPFW's Underwood, OU's Berschbach Earn Weekly Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. - IPFW's Lisa Underwood and Oakland's Anne Berschbach were named The Summit League's Offensive and Defensive Women's Soccer Players of the Week for their performances Sept. 5-11.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lisa Underwood, IPFW
Jr., F (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger)

Underwood records her second career Offensive Player of the Week award after contributing to all of IPFW's scoring last week. She scored two goals and assisted on the third in the Mastodon's 3-2 win at Niagara. Her game-winner came with just 20 seconds remaining in the match, while her first came in the 22nd minute. She also assisted on Elise Mamanu-Gray's tally in the 75th minute, which tied the match. Underwood has scored four goals this season and is currently tied for second in school history with 21 career goals.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Anne Berschbach, Oakland
Sr., GK (Algonae, Mich./Saginaw Valley)

Berschbach collects her first career Defensive Player of the Week and second-straight for an Oakland goalkeeper. The senior held Big East foe Pittsburgh scoreless Sunday, collecting five saves to register her first career shutout in a 3-0 Golden Grizzly win. She played over 30 minutes in relief in the loss to UC Santa Barbara surrendering no goals and stopping two. For the week, Berschbach had a perfect goals against average and save percentage with seven saves.
