his honor ... Named Athletic Director of the Year in 2002 for the
Central Region of Division I-AA/I-AAA by the National Association
of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) ... Recipient of the
Neyland Award by the American Football Foundation in 2002 ...
Helped lead the development of the Mid-Continent Conference, the
North Star Conference and the Pioneer Football League ... A
five-year member of the NCAA Division I Championships/Competition
Cabinet and was chair of the Mid-Continent Conference's Director's
Council for two separate terms ... Served as Valparaiso's
wrestling, golf and assistant football coach, and was a faculty
member in the Department of Physical Education (1959-70) ... Played
football at Valparaiso (1953-56) ... Inducted into the Valparaiso
