ELMHURST, Ill. - North Dakota State's Holly Christian and
Western Illinois' Victoria Kappel were named The Summit League's
Offensive and Defensive Women's Soccer Players of the Week for
their performances Sept. 12-18.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Holly Christian, North Dakota State
Jr., M (Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley)
Christian collects her first career Offensive Player of the Week
award following a two-goal performance, including the game-winner
in a 3-1 victory over Nebraska Omaha. She recorded four points on
the week and the tallies were her first of the year. She secured
her second career multi-goal match and registered her third
game-winner in her career.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kappel earns her first career Defensive Player of the Week award
after registering her league-leading fourth shutout of the season
in a 1-0 win at Green Bay. The freshman recorded four saves in the
match and lowered her season goals against average to 1.25. Kappel
is 5-1 in the last six matches and has a 6-2 record on the
year.
