ELMHURST, Ill. - Eastern Illinois' Matt O'Hagan and Oakland's Sandra Czerska were named The Summit League's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week for their performances Jan. 3-9.


MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Matt O'Hagan, Eastern Illinois

Sr., Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West
O'Hagan earns his first career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week award after leading the Panthers to a second-place team finish at the Tunica Invitational with two individual event wins. The senior won the 100 Breast in 58.75 and the 200 Breast in 2:12.76. Both times rank in the league's top 10, placing fifth in the 100 and eighth in the 200. O'Hagan was also part of the winning 200 Medley and 400 Medley Relay teams.

WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Sandra Czerska, Oakland
Jr., Warsaw, Poland/XLO im. Krolowej Jadwigi

Czerska garners her fourth career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honor and first of the season after leading the Golden Grizzlies to a 155-145 victory over Akron with three individual event wins. The junior won the 200 IM (2:08.86), 100 Fly (57.31) and 200 Fly (2:06.99). She was also part of the first place 200 Medley Relay team.

Also nominated: Kelli DiCanio, Eastern Illinois.
