Oakland's Bethany Watterworth was named The Summit
League's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance
Jan. 3-9.

Watterworth earns her fifth career Player of the Week honor after
leading Oakland to a pair of Summit League victories last week. In
Saturday's win over IUPUI, the junior scored 27 points on 11-of-16
shooting from the field and 5-of-6 from behind the arc. She also
grabbed eight rebounds and had two steals in the game. She followed
that up with 17 points and three assists in a victory over Western
Illinois Monday. For the week, Watterworth averaged 22.0 points,
5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. She was a perfect 4-of-4
from the free throw line and shot 53 percent (16-of-30) from the
field and 57 percent (8-of-14) from downtown, while adding 1.5
steals and 1.5 blocks per contest.
