IUPUI's Katie Comello and Southern Utah's
Carli Moreland were named The Summit League's
Women's Basketball Co-Players of the Week for their performances
Jan. 10-16.

Comello captures her first career award after leading IUPUI to a
perfect week in league play. The sophomore scored a career-high 28
points and tied career-highs with six three-pointers and four
steals in the win over Oral Roberts Saturday. She followed up that
performance with 10 points and five assists in just 22 minutes in
the win over Southern Utah on Monday. For the week, the guard
averaged 19.0 points, 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per
game. She also connected on 55 percent (11-of-20) of her shots from
the field, hit 50 percent (7-of-14) from behind the arc and 90
percent (9-of-10) at the charity stripe.

Moreland earns her first career Player of the Week award after
averaging a double-double for the week in league play. Saturday
against Western Illinois, the sophomore forward scored 19 points
and grabbed 12 rebounds, while shooting 78 percent (7-of-9) from
the field in 27 minutes of play. Two days later, Moreland scored 22
points with 12 boards vs. IUPUI. During the week, she averaged 20.5
points, 12.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per contest, while shooting 65
percent (15-of-23) from the field and 85 percent (11-of-13) from
the free throw line.
