USD's Hegge Named Player of the Week Women's Basketball Media Center | Summit Points Blog | 30th Anniversary Season

ELMHURST, Ill. - South Dakota's Amber Hegge was named The Summit League's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances Jan. 17-23.

Hegge collects her third award of the season after leading the Coyotes to a pair of league wins last week. On Saturday, the senior was four assists shy of a triple-double in only 25 minutes of action in a win over Western Illinois. She scored 10 points with 10 rebounds and six assists. In a victory over IUPUI Monday, Hegge scored 30 points with 12 boards and three steals, while shooting 73 percent (8-of-11) from the field. For the week, she averaged 20.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks per contests. She shot 58 percent (11-of-19) from the field and 89 percent (16-of-18) at the free throw line. With her performances this week, Hegge extended her double-double streak to four-straight games and has helped South Dakota to an 8-1 home record this season.
