South Dakota's Seekamp Earns Initial Player of the Week Honor

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota's Nicole Seekamp was named the initial Summit League's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the 2012-13 season for her performances Nov. 9-11.

Seekamp collects her first career Player of the Week award after leading the Coyotes in scoring during the opening weekend of the 2012-13 campaign. She tallied 18 points with five rebounds and six assists in the 74-69 victory at Drake, a rematch of last season's WNIT contest. The sophomore forward also scored 19 points with four rebounds and two steals in a loss at Cleveland State on Friday. For the week, Seekamp averaged 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per contest. She shot 42 percent (13-31) from the field and 30 percent (3-10) from behind the arc.
