SDSU’s Hogue, OU’s Tomeckova Garner Weekly Swimming & Diving Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State's Wil Hogue and Oakland's Karin Tomeckova were named The Summit League's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week for their performances Oct. 30-Nov. 5.

MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK         
Wil Hogue, South Dakota State
So. // Chandler, Ariz.
Hogue captures his first career Athlete of the Week award after helping the Jackrabbits to a season-opening victory over Green Bay, 146.5-96.5.  The sophomore won two individual events and was a part of a winning relay team as well.  He finished first and posted league-best times in the 50 Free (21.06) and 100 Free (46.51) and was a member of the first place 200 Medley Relay team with a time of 1:34.81, the second-fastest league time this season.

Also nominated: Alex Aceino, Oakland; Colin Krysl, South Dakota.

Previous winners: Oct. 16 – Matt Abercrombie, WIU; Oct. 23 – Rich Sunkel, IUPUI; Oct. 30 – Jorden Merriliees, OU.

WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Karin Tomeckova, Oakland
Fr. // Bratislava, Slovakia
Tomeckova earns her first career Athlete of the Week honor after winning two individual events and two relays en route to helping Oakland defeat Wright State, 193-101.  She won the 50 Back with a time of 27.21 and the 100 Back with a league-best time of 57.33.  She was also a member of the winning 400 Free Relay team (3:39.68) and the 200 Medley Relay team (1:49.56).  The OU 200 Medley Relay time is the second-fastest league time this season.

Also nominated: Megan Chmielewski, South Dakota; Andee Budahl, South Dakota State.

Previous winners: Oct. 16 – Nikki Flynn, OU; Oct. 23 – Elizabeth Bourgeois, IUPUI; Oct. 30 – Tricia Grant, OU.
