ELMHURST, Ill. - North Dakota State's Amanda Grable and UMKC's Deanna Friese were named The Summit League's Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week for their performances Feb. 13-19.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Grable collects her first career Player of the Week award after leading the Bison offense to a 3-2 record at the Seminole Classic. The freshman opened the weekend with back-to-back multi-hits games going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run scored in a win over Coastal Carolina and 2-for-3 with one run scored in a victory over Mercer. She came back the next day to help the Bison defeat Western Carolina as she hit her first collegiate home run. For the weekend, Grable posted a .429 batting average (6-for-14) with a .786 slugging percentage, including three extra-base hits (2 2B, 1 HR), four runs scored, three RBI and one stolen base.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Friese earns her sixth career Pitcher of the Week honor and first of the season after throwing a one-hitter against undefeated Hawai'i, in UMKC's lone game of the week. In six innings of work, the right-handed hurler struck out nine batters, while yielding one hit, one earned run and three walks for an 1.0) ERA.
