SDSU Sweeps Weekly Tennis Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. - South Dakota State's Parker Lawley and Bryna Nasenbeny were named as The Summit League's men's and women's tennis players of the week for their performances March 6-12.

Lawley earned his first career award after posting a perfect 3-0 singles record and adding a pair of doubles victories during the week. Playing the No. 3 singles position, Lawley notched victories against Presbyterian's Zachary Sprouse (7-6, 7-5), SIU Edwardsville's Devan Faulkenberg (7-6 (7-5), 6-2) and St. Joseph's Dan Barrus (4-6, 6-4, 10-4). In doubles play, Lawley teamed with James Thorp at the No. 1 position for wins over Robert Morris (7-0) and St. Joseph's (8-6). For the season, Lawley owns a 7-2 overall singles record and a 6-4 mark in doubles play.

Nasenbeny earned her second career award and first of the season after posting identical 3-1 records in both singles and doubles play. Competing at the No. 1 singles position, Nasenbeny collected victories against Sacred Heart's Gabi Kalden (6-4, 1-6, 6-3), SIU Edwardsville's Kali Donner (7-6 (7-3), 6-3) and Robert Morris' Carolina Teixeira (6-3, 5-7, 11-9). In doubles action, Nasenbeny teamed with Megan McDougall for wins against the duos from SIU Edwardsville (8-4), Robert Morris (8-2) and St. Joseph's (8-2). Nasenbeny improved to 4-5 in singles matches this season and 6-3 in doubles.
