UMKC's Guerin, SUU's Tatarchenko Net Weekly Honors
ELMHURST, Ill. - UMKC's Gustavo Guerin and Southern Utah's Olia Tatarchenko were named as The Summit League's men's and women's tennis players of the week for their performances March 13-19.
Gustavo Guerin, UMKC
Sr., Itumbiara-Goias, Brazil (Colegio Ateneu HS)
Guerin received his first award of the season after winning his lone singles match of the week. Against Lamar, Guerin recorded his team's point by rallying for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory at the No. 3 position against Marton Horvath. The win was his second of the season.

Tatarchenko earned his first award of the season after posting identical 4-0 records in both singles and doubles play at The Summit League's season opening cluster in Las Vegas. Competing at the No. 3 singles position, Tatarchenko won all four league singles matches in straight sets. Two of her victories, over IUPUI's Shelby Hullett (1 and 2) and South Dakota's Shad Solemani (4 and 2) were the clinching wins for Southern Utah. Tatarchenko also recorded singles wins over IPFW's Marcy Huck (7-6 (3), 6-0) and UMKC's Amelie Amsallem (2 and 4). Pairing with Alex Ivanova at No. 1 doubles, Tatarchenko claimed four more victories over the weekend against IUPUI's Bridegroom/Hullet (8-5), IPFW's Huck/Kiefer (8-3), UMKC's Dalvai/Bouet (8-5) and USD's Solemani/Sergeychik (8-1). Tatarchenko owns a 7-3 season record in both singles and doubles.
