OU's Ryan, ORU's Giller, SUU's Neubauer Earn Baseball Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. - Oakland's Tim Ryan, Oral Roberts' Kurt Giller and Southern Utah's Justin Neubauer were named The Summit League's Baseball Player and Pitchers of the Week for their performances April 9-15.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tim Ryan, Oakland
Sr., OF (Saginaw, Mich./Nouvel Catholic Central)
Ryan earns his first career Player of the Week award after leading Oakland to a 4-1 record on the week, including a series win over IPFW. The senior went 3-for-5 in the series finale with four runs scored, two RBI and a home run. He added two hits and two runs scored in game three of the four-game set. For the week, Ryan batted .421 (8-for-19) with eight runs scored, four walks, three RBI and a homer. He also swiped two bases, had two sacrifices and collected a .579 slugging percentage and .522 on-base percentage. In league game, Ryan went 7-for-16 (.438) and he is riding a six-game hitting streak, while leading the team with 17 stolen bases.

PITCHERS OF THE WEEK
Kurt Giller, Oral Roberts

Giller collects his first career Pitcher of the Week honor after tossing a complete game shutout over Southern Utah last week. He surrendered just three hits in nine innings with six strikeouts and held a no-hitter into the seventh inning as the Golden Eagles won 6-0.

Justin Neubauer, Southern Utah
Jr., LHP (Las Vegas, Nev./Rancho)
Neubauer records his second career award and first this season after pitching a complete game shutout over Oral Roberts. In the seven-inning game, the junior southpaw allowed just one hit while striking out two in a 76-pitch effort. Neubauer took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before surrendering a single for the only ORU hit.
