Rezac, Gonzalez and Kingsley Collect Weekly Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. - Southern Utah's Chase Rezac earned Player of the Week and Oral Roberts' Alex Gonzalez and North Dakota State's Kyle Kingsley were named Pitchers of the Week as The Summit League announced its baseball awards for April 16-22.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Chase Rezac, Southern Utah
Jr., DH (Murray, Utah/Murray)
Rezac received the Player of the Week award after hitting .545 with six RBI and five runs scored in three wins against IPFW. In the first game of the April 20 doubleheader, Rezac went 4-for-5 with five RBI and three runs scored while belting a home run and adding a stolen base. In the nitecap, he was 1-for-2 with a RBI triple and scored twice. He reached base twice in the series finale. For the week, Rezac slugged 1.000 and recorded a .643 on-base percentage to go along with his six hits, including a triple and home run, and two stolen bases.

PITCHERS OF THE WEEK
Alex Gonzalez, Oral Roberts
So., RHP (Delray Beach, Fla./Boca Raton Community HS)
Gonzalez claimed his second Pitcher of the Week award of the season after a complete game one-hitter in a 2-0 victory over Western Illinois. Against the Leathernecks, Gonzalez tossed 7.0 innings, while yielding just one hit and two walks while striking out five in his 90-pitch outing. Earlier in the week, he made a relief appearance against Oklahoma and worked one inning without an earned run.

Kyle Kingsley, North Dakota State
Jr., RHP (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South)
Kinglsey earned his first Pitcher of the Week award after picking up victories in each of his three relief appearances against South Dakota State. In the series opening against the Jackrabbits, Kingsley worked one shutout inning with a strikeout in a 3-2 victory. The following day, he tossed 1.2 scoreless innings in a 7-6 victory before working 3.0 perfect innings in the series finale. Kingsley did not allow a run and yielded just one baserunner (on a single) in 5.2 innings during the week.
