Pickar, Bowen, Rezac Earn Weekly Baseball Awards
ELMHURST, Ill. - Oral Roberts' Bennett Pickar earned Player of the Week honors and Oral Roberts' Drew Bowen and Southern Utah's Chase Rezac were named Pitchers of the Week as The Summit League announced its baseball awards for May 7-13.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bennett Pickar, Oral Roberts
Jr., C (Eaton, Colo./Eaton)
Pickar captured his first career Player of the Week award after leading Oral Roberts with a trio of three-hit games against IPFW last week. In game one, the junior catcher went 3-for-4 with six RBI and a grand slam to break a scoreless tie after six innings. He went a perfect 3-for-3 in the series finale and added three hits with three RBI and three runs scored in game two. For the week, Pickar batted .667 (10-for-15) with 11 RBI, five runs scored, two walks and a grand slam. He also recorded a .867 slugging percentage and .722 on-base percentage in the four-game series.

Drew Bowen, Oral Roberts

Bowen earned his third Pitcher of the Week award this season and fourth of his career after tossing a complete game shutout at IPFW on Friday. The junior yielded just four hits in his nine innings of work with nine strikeouts and two walks. It was his team-leading fourth complete game and second complete game shutout of the season. The nine punch outs were his second-highest on the year.
Chase Rezac, Southern Utah
Jr., RHP (Murray, Utah/Murray)
Rezac recorded his first career Pitcher of the Week honor following his complete game shutout performance Thursday over South Dakota State. The junior allowed just two hits with two strikeouts in the 66-pitch effort for his third win on the year.
