DeBoe, Straka Capture Weekly Baseball Awards
ELMHURST, Ill. – IPFW's Carter DeBoe earned Player of the Week honors and North Dakota State's John Straka was named Pitcher of the Week as The Summit League announced its baseball awards for April 30-May 6.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Carter DeBoe, IPFW

DeBoe captured his second Player of the Week honor of the season after leading the IPFW offense in a series split at WIU. In the series finale win, the sophomore outfielder went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI and added two hits, including a double, in game one's victory. He has now reached base safely in 13-straight contests. For the week, DeBoe batted .429 (6-for-14) with five runs scored, four RBI, three stolen bases, two homers, one double and one walk. He posted a .929 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage in the four games. DeBoe leads the Mastodons in RBI (37), stolen bases (17), home runs (8) and slugging percentage (.467) this season.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
John Straka, North Dakota State

Straka earned his third Pitcher of the Week award of the season and fourth of his career after tossing a complete game shutout over Southern Utah last week. The junior went nine innings, yielding no runs or walks while striking out eight batters and surrendering just six singles. Straka tied Bison program records for single-season shutouts with three and career shutouts with five.
