Kellermann, Finnell Earn First Weekly Awards of the Season
ELMHURST, Ill. – Oakland's Kyla Kellermann and Kansas
City's Jami Finnell were named The Summit League's Offensive and
Defensive Women's Soccer Players of the Week for their performances
Aug. 17-19.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kyla Kellermann, Oakland
So., F (Elmvale, Ontario/Elmvale District)
Kellermann collects her first career Offensive Player of the Week
award after recording a hat trick in the win over Rochester
College, including the match-winner, to open the season last week.
The three goals were the third-highest single-match total in school
history. Kellermann became just the second league player to record
a hat trick since 2008. The sophomore also added a goal and assist
in the 3-3 draw at Eastern Michigan Sunday. Kellermann was involved
in the scoring of five goals in two games and recorded nine
points.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jami Finnell, Kansas City
Sr., GK (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southwest)
Finnell garners her third Defensive Player of the Week in her
career after collecting 16 saves in the 1-0 loss at No. 5 Oklahoma
State. The 16 saves tied her own school record in a single match.
She had a .941 save percentage and finished with a 1.00 GAA for the
week. Finnell's only blemish in the match came on an own goal.
