Women's Soccer Weekly Awards Announced
ELMHURST, Ill. – Kansas City's Taylor Bare and Oakland Meghan Reynolds were named Offensive Players of the Week while Western Illinois' Laura Atkinson and IUPUI Giselle Guzman were named The Summit League's Defensive Women's Soccer Players of the Week for their performances Aug. 27-Sept. 3.
OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Taylor Bare, Kansas City
Jr., F (Anoka, Minn./Anoka)
Bare collects her second career Offensive Player of the Week award this season after scoring two goals in a 2-0 win over Green Bay at the SIU Edwardsville Tournament last week. The junior scored the eventual match-winner in the 40th minute and added an insurance tally in the 55th minute of the match. She added a shot in the 2-1 loss to SIU Edwardsville. For the week, Bare had two goals and four points and a .667 shot percentage.
Meghan Reynolds, Oakland
Jr., F (Aurora, Ontario/Aurora)
Reynolds records her first career Offensive Player of the Week honor after scoring two of Oakland's three goals in the win over Detroit. The junior forward put the Golden Grizzlies up early with the first goal of the match in the 14th minute. She scored the golden goal in the fifth minute of the first overtime period on a breakaway finish.

DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Laura Atkinson, Western Illinois
Jr., GK (Oregon, Wis./Oregon)
Atkinson earns her third career Defensive Player of the Week award after recording a pair of victories and helping Western Illinois improve its record to 4-1 on the year. The junior recorded three saves and earned the shutout in the 1-0 win at Mississippi Valley State. The next day, she collected two saves to record a 2-0 win at Jackson State. For the week, Atkinson had two victories, five saves, one shutout in 170 minutes of action and a perfect goals against average. She leads the league in wins, goals against and goals against average.
Giselle Guzman, IUPUI
Jr., GK (North Hollywood, Calif./St. Genevieve)
Guzman records her first career Defensive Player of the Week award after helping IUPUI to a 1-0 shutout victory at Ball State last week. The shutout was Guzman's third of her career and it gave the Jaguars their first win of the season. The junior also played the first 10:10 of Sunday's match vs. Xavier and held the Musketeers scoreless. Guzman had a perfect goals against average and save percentage for the week.
