WIU’s Holt Earns Season’s Initial Player of the Week Honor

ELMHURST, Ill. – Western Illinois' Bradley Holt was named as The Summit League's men's tennis player of the week for his performance through Jan. 21. The award marks the first weekly honor of the season.

Holt earns his first career honor after starting his collegiate career with a 2-1 singles record and 2-0 doubles mark. Playing the No. 3 singles position, Holt dropped his dual debut against Notre Dame, before posting straight-set victories over Chicago State's Julian Chavez (1 and 2) and Valparaiso's Michael Savaglio (3 and 4). At No. 2 doubles, Holt was part of a tandem that notched wins over Chicago State (8-3) and Valparaiso (8-6). Holt's efforts helped Western Illinois post its initial victory of the season against Chicago State.
