Western Illinois’ Ogilvie, Oakland’s Tomeckova Capture Weekly Swimming and Diving Awards
ELMHURST, Ill. – Western Illinois' Doug Ogilvie and Oakland's Karin Tomeckova were named The Summit League's Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week, for their performances Jan. 15-21.
MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Ogilvie collects his fourth career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honor and first of the season after posting four first-place finishes and qualifying for the NCAA Zones. The sophomore helped the Leathernecks to an overall first-place team finish on Friday, with event wins in the one-meter dive (314.85) and three-meter (315.53). His score of 314.85 marked a Brophy Hall Pool record and qualified him for the NCAA Zones. The Oswego, Ill., native came back the next day, again sweeping both events with scores of 300.45 in the one-meter and 319.58 in the three-meter. Ogilvie currently ranks second in the league in both events.

Tomeckova earns her third career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honor after six top-three finishes, two individual and four relay, at the Cincinnati Quad Meet. The freshman won the 100 back (57.41) and finished runner-up in the 200 back (2:04.07). She was also a member of the winning 200 free relay squad (1:36.27), the second-place 200 medley relay team (1:47.37) and the third-place 400 free (3:33.87) and 400 medley teams (3:54.49).
