WIU’s Neaveill, UNO’s Renshaw, SDSU’s Budahl Earn Initial Swimmer of the Week Awards
ELMHURST, Ill. – Western Illinois' Chris Neaveill was named the Men's Swimmer of the Week, while Omaha's Natalie Renshaw and South Dakota State's Andrea Budahl were named the Women's Swimmers of the Week for their performances Oct. 5-14. These mark the initial awards of the 2013-14 season.
MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Chris Neaveill, Western Illinois
Fr. // Germantown Hills, Ill.
Neaveill collects his first career Swimmer of the Week honor after winning a pair of events and setting a Brophy Pool record in Western Illinois' season opener against Saint Louis. In the freshman's first collegiate swim meet, he won the 100 fly in a league-best 51.56, which broke the Brophy Pool record that stood since 1978. Neaveill also won the 50 fly touching the wall at 23.30.

WOMEN'S SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK
Natalie Renshaw, Omaha
So. // Omaha, Neb.
Renshaw garners her second career weekly award after recording a trio of individual first-place finishes and a relay event win against league foe South Dakota State. The Omaha, Neb., native was the only swimmer at the dual to finish the 100 back in under a minute and won the event with a time of 57.98. She also took first in the 50 free (24.13), 100 free (52.23) and was a member of the winning 200 free relay squad (1:38.55). She clocked league-best times in all four events.
Andrea Budahl, South Dakota State

Budahl receives the second weekly honor of her career after posting four event wins between two meets last week. In South Dakota State's season opener at North Dakota, the senior tallied league-best times and won the 500 free (5:11.34) and 1,000 free (10:35.18). She came back the next day to help the Jackrabbits defeat league opponent Omaha by taking first in the same two events with times of 5:18.27 in the 500 free and 10:44.30 in the 1,000 free.
