DiGiacomo, Lazzerini, Rey Earn Player of the Week Awards
ELMHURST, Ill. – Denver's Nicholette DiGiacomo and Fort Wayne's Andie Lazzerini were named The Summit League's Women's Soccer Offensive Players of the Week while Denver's Cassidy Rey was named the Defensive Player of the Week for their performances Oct. 14-20.
OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Nicholette DiGiacomo, Denver

DiGiacomo earns her first career Offensive Player of the Week award after scoring two goals in a pair of league wins for Denver last week. The senior scored the game-winner in the ninth minute off a free kick from 19 yards out in the win at Omaha Friday. On Sunday, she netted an insurance goal in the 71st minute off a cross from teammate Anna Willis against South Dakota. On the week, she finished with four points, seven shots and three shots on goal. DiGiacomo is second on the Pioneers with 21 points off nine goals and three assists this season.
Andie Lazzerini, Fort Wayne

Lazzerini records her first career Offensive Player of the Week honor after guiding the Mastodons to four points in the standings last week. In Friday's draw at IUPUI, she scored her first collegiate goal in the 50th minute from 22 yards out to tie the match at 1-1. The freshman scored the lone goal of the match in the 47th minute at Western Illinois to give Fort Wayne the 1-0 victory. Lazzerini had four points and scored two of the Mastodon's three goals on the week.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Rey collects her fourth Defensive Player of the Week award after posting a pair of league shutouts at Omaha and South Dakota. In Friday's 3-0 win against the Mavericks, the freshman made two saves, while notching three in the 4-0 win over the Coyotes on Sunday. Rey has six shutouts this season and has not allowed a goal in league play. She leads the league with a 0.46 goals against average and .906 save percentage on the year.
