DiGiacomo, Pavlika Selected as Players of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. – Denver's Nicholette DiGiacomo was named The Summit League's Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week while Fort Wayne's Sam Pavlika was named the Defensive Player of the Week for their performances Oct. 21-27.

DiGiacomo captures her second-straight Offensive Player of the Week honor after recording a pair of goals and assists for Denver last week. The senior scored the game-winner against South Dakota State in the 19th minute and added an assist on Cassidy Larson's goal in the 66th minute of the match. In Sunday's 2-1 victory over North Dakota State, the midfielder scored the Pioneers first goal at the 5:46 minute off a header from a corner kick. She then assisted on Anna Willis' game-winner in the ninth minute. For the week, DiGiacomo registered six points (two goals, two assists) in helping Denver clinch the regular season league title with a perfect 7-0-0 record.

Pavlika earns her third career Defensive Player of the Week award after collecting a pair of 1-0 league shutouts. In Friday's match against South Dakota, the sophomore had four saves and collected three more stops in the win over Omaha on Sunday. For the week, Pavlika had a perfect goals against average and save percentage. With the two shutouts, she set the single-season school record with five and tied the career mark with nine.
