USD's Seekamp Earns Season's Initial Weekly Award

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota guard Nicole Seekamp was named The Summit League's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances Nov. 8-10. The award marked the initial honor of the 2013-14 season.

Seekamp collects her second career Player of the Week award after also earning the initial award last season. In Friday's win at Cal State Fullerton, the junior guard scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds with a pair of blocks and steals. She also shot 43 percent (6-of-14) from the field. On Sunday, she scored 20 points with five rebounds and six steals in a four-point loss at UC Irvine. For the week, Seekamp averaged 19 points, six rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block per contest. She shot 38 percent (11-of-29) from the field, 33 percent (2-of-6) from behind the arc and 88 percent (14-of-16) at the line.
