WIU's Luke Earns Player of the Week Honor

ELMHURST, Ill. – Western Illinois forward Ashley Luke was named The Summit League's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances Dec. 2-8.

Luke earns her fourth career Player of the Week honor and second this season after leading Western Illinois in a split of its games last week. Luke shot 73 percent (11-of-15) from the field in a loss at No. 15 Oklahoma. She scored 27 points with six rebounds and a career-high six steals against the Sooners. In Saturday's win over Southeast Missouri State, the sophomore forward set a career-high with 15 rebounds and tied a career-high with 29 points. She added three steals and set a program record for most free throws made in a 100 percent shooting night (17-of-17). She has now made 28 straight free throws, third-most in program history. For the week, Luke averaged 28 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals, 2.5 assists and one block per contest. She shot 61 percent (17-of-28) from the field and was perfect at the line (22-of-22) in the two games.
