South Dakota State's Lingle Named Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State center Katie Lingle was named The Summit League's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances Feb. 4-10.

Lingle earns her first career Player of the Week award after guiding South Dakota State to a pair of league wins last week. In the win over Fort Wayne on Thursday, the senior scored a career-high 18 points on 9-of-13 shooting (.692) with nine rebounds, three blocks and two assists. She followed that performance with 10 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks in only 18 minutes in the win over Oakland. For the week, Lingle came off the bench to average 14 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and two assists per game while playing only 21 minutes per contest. She also shot 61 percent (14-of-23) from the field on the week. Coming into the week, Lingle was averaging eight points, 4.5 rebounds, one block and 0.6 assists to either double or nearly double each category.
