Fort Wayne’s Kiefer Named Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Fort Wayne's Caterina Kiefer was named as The Summit League's women's tennis player of the week for her performance Feb. 5-11.

Kiefer earns her third career award and first of the season after posting a 3-0 singles record and two doubles victories during the week. Playing the No. 3 singles position, Kiefer recorded straight-set victories over Valparaiso's Michele Fredlake (1 and 1) and Wright State's Amy Nini (4 and 4) and a three-set win over Ball State's Ayaka Terashi (7-6, 6-7, 10-8). Competing at No. 1 doubles, Kiefer added 8-1 wins over both the Valparaiso and Wright State tandems while helping lead the Mastodons to victories in their dual matches. She improved her season records to 5-1 in singles and 4-2 in doubles.
