IUPUI's Nelson, NDSU's DeGagne Earn Player of the Week Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. – IUPUI forward Kerah Nelson and North Dakota State guard Dani DeGagne were named The Summit League's Women's Basketball Players of the Week for their performances Feb. 25 – March 3.

Nelson captures her second Player of the Week award this season and third of her career after guiding IUPUI to a pair of league wins. In the win over Fort Wayne Saturday, the senior forward tied her career-high with 29 points on 13-of-14 (.929) shooting from the field and grabbing 11 rebounds with two assists. The double-double was her first of the season and she became IUPUI's all-time leading scorer in its Division I-era. On Thursday, she grabbed eight rebounds with eight points and two blocks in the win over Oakland. For the week, Nelson averaged 18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, one steal and one block per game. She shot 68 percent (15-of-22) from the field and was perfect at the line (7-of-7).

DeGagne earns her second-straight Player of the Week award after scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in last week's game against South Dakota State. The senior guard shot 64 percent (9-of-14) from the field and was a perfect 4-of-4 at the free throw line while also dishing out four assists.
