USD's Karch, SDSU's Inskeep Named Players of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota's Jamie Karch was named The Summit League's Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week while South Dakota State's Nicole Inskeep was named the Defensive Player of the Week for their performances Aug. 26-Sept. 2.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Karch earns her first career Offensive Player of the Week award after leading South Dakota to a pair of road wins last week. In Friday's 2-1 overtime victory at Wyoming, Karch scored her first collegiate goal in the ninth minute of the overtime period, handing the Cowgirls their first loss of the season. She also earned her first career assist on Makena Cameron's goal in the 71st minute of the match. Karch added her second goal of the week in the 78th minute of the win at Colorado-Colorado Springs. For the week, Karch scored two goals with one assist in just 82 minutes of action off the bench along with one game-winner. Through the first two weeks of the regular season, the Coyotes have already matched their win total from a year ago.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Inskeep collects her first career Defensive Player of the Week honor after recording a pair of shutouts in the UTSA Classic last week. The freshman from Ankeny, Iowa, made four saves in the 3-0 win over Lamar on Friday. She followed that performance with a double overtime shutout over Sam Houston State by making one stop in the match. The win over Lamar was the first of her career. For the week, Inskeep had a perfect goals against average and save percentage along with five total saves.
