NDSU's Miller, DU's Rey Capture Women's Soccer Weekly Awards
ELMHURST, Ill. – North Dakota State's Lauren Miller was named The Summit League's Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week while Denver's Cassidy Rey was named the Defensive Player of the Week for their performances Sept. 3-8.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Miller collects her first career Offensive Player of the Week award after scoring three goals in two North Dakota State wins last week. In Friday's 3-2 win over Idaho, the freshman scored the go-ahead goal in the 66th minute with her one-timer from 20 yards out. On Sunday, she scored two of the three Bison goals in a 3-1 win over Minnesota-Duluth. The first came in the 38th minute on a breakaway while her second found the back of the net in the 52nd minute of the match. For the week, Miller had three goals, including a game-winner, for six points while all six of her shots were on goal.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Rey earns her second Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season after posting a pair of shutouts in the Denver Invitational. The freshman goalie ran her career shutout total to three after playing all 180 minutes between the posts. She made three saves in a 1-0 win over UT Martin, a 2012 NCAA Tournament participant, and also had three stops in the 2-0 victory over Alabama. Rey leads the league in goals against average (0.50) and save percentage (.912) and her three shutouts are tied for the league-lead. The Pioneers, ranked No. 20 in the nation, are off to their best start in school history at 6-0-0.
