Denver’s Krall, Sanders Capture Weekly Swimming Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. – Denver's Tanner Krall and Amanda Sanders were named The Summit League's Swimmers of the Week for their performances Jan. 14-20.

MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK        
Tanner Krall, Denver

Krall collects his first career Swimmer of the Week award after recording four individual event wins to help Denver defeat BYU (175-125) and Wyoming (173.5-127).  He swept the breaststroke events during both duals, clocking a weekend-best 56.61 in the 100 vs. BYU and 2:04.66 in the 200 vs. Wyoming.  The senior was also a member of the winning 400 medley relay squad vs. the Cowboys that set an El Pomar Natatorium pool record with a time of 3:19.69.

WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Amanda Sanders, Denver

Sanders earns her first career Swimmer of the Week honor after helping the Pioneers defeated BYU (199-158), New Mexico (199-140) and Wyoming (173-126.5) with five individual first-place finishes and two relay victories.  The freshman swept the breaststroke events on both days, posting weekend-best times of 1:04.24 in the 100 against Wyoming and 2:19.38 in the 200 vs. BYU and New Mexico.  Sanders also won the 200 IM against BYU and New Mexico touching the wall at 2:08.80.  The Littleton, Colo., native was also a part of the first place 400 medley relay team against the Cowgirls, which set an El Pomar Natatorium pool record with a time of 3:45.61.
