USD's Hemiller Tabbed Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota guard Tia Hemiller was named The Summit League's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances Dec. 30 – Jan. 5.

Hemiller earns her first career Player of the Week award after leading South Dakota to a pair of wins over Valparaiso and Cleveland State. In a New Year's Eve contest at Valparaiso, the sophomore guard scored 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting with four rebounds, three assists and two steals. She followed that with her first career double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) while adding five assists in the win over Cleveland State. For the week, Hemiller averaged 14.5 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals with a 2.7 assist to turnover ratio. She shot 48 percent (11-of-23) from the field and ranks second in the league in three-point percentage (54.1 percent).
