Martin, Bonham Capture #SummitWSOC Weekly Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. – Oral Roberts' Ashley Martin was named The Summit League's Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week while North Dakota State's Sierra Bonham was named the Defensive Player of the Week for their performances Oct. 13-19.

Martin captures her first career Offensive Player of the Week award after leading Oral Roberts to a 2-1 win over IUPUI. The junior scored both Golden Eagle goals, her first two of the year, just 31 seconds apart. Her first tally came off a penalty kick at the 54:07 mark while the eventual game-winner was scored at the 54:38 mark on the clock. Martin took a pass from Maria Stordahl and scored from the top left-side of the box. The win helped Oral Roberts snap a five-game winless and scoreless streak.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bonham earns her second Defensive Player of the Week honor this season and of her career after posting a pair of league shutouts for the Bison. The junior collected four saves in Friday's 1-0 win over previously league unbeaten South Dakota State. She added eight saves in North Dakota State's second 1-0 league victory of the week coming at Fort Wayne. For the week, she had a perfect GAA and save percentage and registered 12 total saves.
