Denver’s Bunch and Corea Named Swimmers of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. – Denver's Dylan Bunch and Samantha Corea were named The Summit League's Swimmers of the Week for their performances Dec. 2-8.
MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Dylan Bunch, Denver

Bunch earned his second Swimmer of the Week honor this season and fifth of his career after a pair of Summit League best times that earned him victories at the Hawkeye Invitational. His winning 500 freestyle time of 4:19.10 was a league-best and ranks No. 16 in the NCAA this season. In the 1650 freestyle, Bunch won with a league-best time of 15:00.87, good for the No. 13 position nationally. He also placed third in the 200 free with a time of 1:37.96, which ranks third in the league. All three of Bunch's individual times qualified as NCAA Standard B cuts.

WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Corea collected her second Swimmer of the Week award this season and the fourth of her career after posting four victories, all of which resulted in league-best times, at the Hawkeye Invitational. Her winning time of 1:52.68 in the 200 backstroke set a new Denver record, meet record and Iowa Pool record and ranks No. 9 in the nation. Corea's 200 back winning time of 1:52.68 ranks No. 16 in the NCAA while her victorious 100 fly (52.83) and 50 free (22.47) times rank 22nd and 31st nationally. All four of her individual times qualified as NCAA Standard B cuts.
