ELMHURST, Ill. – Denver's Evy Van Genechten was named as The Summit League's Women's Tennis Player of the Week following her performance Feb. 11-17.

Van Genechten received her first league honor after going 2-0 in singles play during the week. Against No. 55 Utah, Van Genechten rallied for a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory over Paige Miles at No. 5 singles. Playing the No. 5 singles slot against BYU, Van Genechten was the lone Pioneer to win her match, posting a straight-set (2 and 4) win over Toby Miclat.

Also nominated: Mayu Sato, Fort Wayne; Alex Tran, Omaha; Tacy Haws-Lay, South Dakota State.
