Fort Wayne’s Guell Named Summit League Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Fort Wayne's Gerard Guell was named as The Summit League's Men's Tennis Player of the Week following his performance Feb. 11-17.

Guell received his first career league honor after recording a 3-0 singles record and a pair of doubles victories during the week. Playing the No. 4 singles position, Guell defeated Rowan Isaaks (0 and 2) of Horizon League favorite Green Bay, Michael Treis (3 and 4) of MAC favorite Western Michigan and Ricardo Pineda (5 and 4) of Wright State. Guell teamed with Martin Muadi for No. 2 doubles victories over the tandems from Green Bay (6-3) and Wright State (6-5 (7-6)).

Also nominated: Alex Clinkenbeard, Denver; Manuel Laboy, IUPUI; James McManus, Omaha; Christoph Haertel, Western Illinois.
