Fort Wayne’s Guell Named Player of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. – Fort Wayne's Gerard Guell was named as The Summit League's Men's Tennis Player of the Week following his performance April 1-7.

Guell earned his second career honor, both this season, after posting a 4-0 singles record and adding a pair of doubles victories during the week. In a Summit League match against Omaha, Guell scored a straight-set win (0 and 1) over Eric McKnight at No. 3 singles in a 5-2 Mastodon victory. Guell also notched victories against Creighton's Jake Norman (4 and 0), Valparaiso's Eric Honert (7-6 (7-5), 6-1) and Grace's Jacob Stump (2 and 1) during the week. Playing the No. 2 doubles position, Guell teamed with Martin Muadi for an 8-3 win over the Creighton duo and an 8-5 triumph against Grace's tandem. Guell has won nine consecutive singles matches and 14 of his last 15 and helped Fort Wayne increase its program-record season win total to 15.
