USD's Krysl and Svendson Named Swimmers of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota's Colin Krysl and Katie Svendson were named The Summit League's Swimmers of the Week for their performances Jan. 12-18.

MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK        
Colin Krysl, South Dakota

Krysl earned his second career Swimmer of the Week award and first this season after contributing to two Coyotes' victories over the weekend. The senior captured seven events over the course of a two-day dual versus Western Illinois and Eastern Illinois. Krysl began by winning the 100-yard butterfly in 52.34 seconds, 200-yard IM in 2:00.34, and 400-medley relay on Friday. Returning on Saturday, Krysl took three individual events and one relay. He touched in at 50.48 in the 100-yard fly, 1:55.13 in the 200-yard fly, 4:16 in the 400 IM and 1:36.89 in the 200-yard medley

WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Katie Svendson, South Dakota

Svendson collects her first Summit League Swimmer of the Week award of her young career after leading her team to a pair of wins over league competition. The freshman finished first in the four individual events in which she competed. She touched first in the 200 free (1:59.32), 500 free twice (5:20.15, 5:17.09) and the 1000 yard free (10:56.87). She was also a key ingredient in third-place finish in the 400 medley relay.
