Fort Wayne’s Sato Named Initial #SummitWTN Player of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. – Fort Wayne's Mayu Sato was named The Summit League's Women's Tennis Player of the Week following her performance through Jan. 26. Her award marks the season's initial weekly honor.

Sato garnered her third career Player of the Week accolade after opening the season with 2-0 records in both singles and doubles play while leading her team to a pair of dual match victories. Playing the No. 1 singles position, Sato notched straight-set victories over Chicago State's Caryanne Lloyd (4 and 1) and Shivani Patel (2 and 1) of St. Francis (Pa.). The Summit League's reigning Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year teamed with Marcy Huck at No. 1 doubles and scored a 6-1 win over Chicago State and a 6-3 triumph over St. Francis.
