ORU’s Lawrence, DU’s Rey Named #SummitWSOC Players of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Oral Roberts forward Brittney Lawrence was named Summit League Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Denver goalkeeper Cassidy Rey earned the league's Defensive Player of the Week award for their performances Oct. 19-25.

  • Earned first career Player of the Week award
  • Totaled five points on two goals and an assist while leading ORU to a pair of victories
  • Assisted on golden goal in 3-2 victory over then-league co-leader South Dakota State
  • Scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Omaha that propelled ORU into second place in Summit League standings

  • Posted her third shutout of the season, and 12th of her career, while making four saves in 1-0 victory over IUPUI
  • Went 2-0 with a 0.50 GAA with six saves and an .857 save percentage during the week
  • Moved into a second-place tie for most Defensive Player of the Week awards in league history
