WIU’s Covington Named #SummitMBB Player of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. – Western Illinois' Garret Covington was named Summit League Player of the Week for his performance Nov. 13-15. The honor marks the first weekly award of the 2015-16 season.

- Received third career award
- Averaged 15.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, two assists and 1.5 steals per game in a pair of wins
- Hit the game-winning free throws with 10 seconds left to seal historic win at No. 17 Wisconsin
- Scored 16 points with three rebounds vs. the Badgers and added 14 points and three steals in 21 minutes vs. Hannibal-LaGrange
- Shot 50 percent from the field, 44 percent from three-point range and was perfect at the line for the week

In its fourth decade of Division I athletics, The Summit League features men's basketball teams from nine member institutions: Denver, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, North Dakota State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Western Illinois.
