SDSU’s Parks Garners #SummitMBB Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State's Deondre Parks was named Summit League Player of the Week for his performance Dec. 7-13.

  • Named Summit League Player of the Week for the first time in his career 
  • Poured in 21 points in SDSU's 84-70 win at Minnesota of the Big Ten, the program's first-ever victory at Minnesota
  • The senior followed up that performance with a season- and game-high 23 points (9-of-14 shooting) in home win over UC Santa Barbara
  • Shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line, extending his streak to 34 consecutive free throws made dating back to Nov. 21
  • For the week, averaged 22.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game

ABOUT SUMMIT LEAGUE MEN'S BASKETBALL
In its fourth decade of Division I athletics, The Summit League features men's basketball teams from nine member institutions: Denver, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, North Dakota State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Western Illinois. In 2014-15, The Summit League completed its fourth straight season with both a top-20 league RPI finish and a league-record four teams in national postseason tournaments.
