NDSU’s Reina, UNO’s Hinrichs Earn #SummitSB Weekly Awards
ELMHURST, Ill. – North Dakota State's Alyssa Reina and Omaha's Jaylee Hinrichs were named The Summit League's Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week for their performances Feb. 9-15.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Alyssa Reins earns her first career Summit League Player of the Week award after leading NDSU to a 3-2 record in the San Diego State Campbell/Cartier Classic over the weekend. Reina went 3-for-3 with a triple, home run and seven runs batted in in the 13-4 win over Central Michigan Friday. The seven RBI were a career-high and one off the school single-game record. Reina had the game-winning home run, a two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth inning, in the 2-0 win over Seton Hall. For the weekend, Reina hit .429 with two home runs and 11 runs batted in.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Jaylee Hinrichs has been named Summit League Pitcher of the Week for the first time in her career after her performance at the Eagle Challenge in Apex, N.C. over the weekend. Hinrichs pitched two complete games against North Carolina Central and Virginia on her way to a perfect 2-0 record. She gave up only two hits and struck out nine in a 7-1 victory of N.C. Central Friday. For the week, she totaled 15 strikeouts while only allowing three earned runs for an ERA of 1.50.
