Fort Wayne’s Sato Tabbed #SummitWTN Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Fort Wayne's Mayu Sato was named The Summit League's Women's Tennis Player of the Week following her performance March 10-16.

Sato earned her second award of the season and fourth of her career after compiling 2-0 records in both singles and doubles play. In a league victory over Oral Roberts, Sato scored a straight-set win (1 and 0) over Andrada Gordan at No. 1 singles and teamed for an 8-3 triumph at No. 1 doubles. In a non-league win over Missouri State, Sato notched a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Ema Turudija at No. 1 singles. Sato has won six of her last seven singles matches this season, all in straight sets, and remains unbeaten in Summit League matches during her career.
