USD's Minogue, NDSU's Menke Garner Weekly #SummitSB Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. –South Dakota junior Yvon Minogue has been named Summit League Player of the Week while North Dakota State senior Krista Menke earns the league's Pitcher of the Week award after their performances April 6-12.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Yvon Minogue earns her second career Summit League Player of the Week award and second of the season after leading South Dakota to a 4-1 record over the week. Minogue batted .824 (14-for-17) with three home runs, three doubles and a triple in the five games while driving in eight and scoring 14 runs in the process of breaking USD's 22-year-old record for doubles in a season (21). She drew three walks combined with her 14 hits for an on-base percentage of .857 and a slugging percentage of 1.647. Minogue tallied at least two base-hits in all five games, helping the Coyotes score a record 20 runs Wednesday versus Creighton and then matching that figure Saturday against Fort Wayne.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Menke is named Summit League Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week and 17th time in her career after leading her team to a three-game sweep of South Dakota State. Menke tossed two complete-game one-hitters in two starts against SDSU. On Sunday, she took a perfect game into the fifth inning before giving up a one-out single en route to a 9-0 victory. The senior right-hander struck out 14 Jackrabbits in Saturday's win to bring her NCAA-leading season total to 275. She now has 18 double-digit strikeout games on the season and 25 for her career.
