IPFW's Sato, SDSU’s Magni Net #SummitWTN Player of the Week Awards
ELMHURST, Ill. – Fort Wayne's Mayu Sato and South Dakota State's Florencia Magni were named The Summit League's Women's Tennis Players of the Week following their performances April 14-20. The honors marked the final weekly awards of the season.

Mayu Sato, Fort Wayne

Sato garnered her league-high fourth Player of the Week honor of the season, and the sixth of her career, after posting a 4-0 singles record during the final week of the regular season. All four of her victories, including three league contests, came in straight sets. Against Western Illinois, Sato won 2 and 3 over Courtney Lubbers at No. 1 singles and teamed for an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles. Later in the day, she scored a 2 and 3 win over South Dakota State's Iasmin Rosa. Sato closed out The Summit League schedule with a 1 and 4 triumph over IUPUI's Valeriia Lavrenchuk at No. 1 singles and posted an 8-2 doubles win at No. 1. Sato's four Player of the Week awards tie for the second-highest season total in Summit League history (since records were kept in 1999).
Florencia Magni, South Dakota State
Jr. // Cordoba, Argentina
Magni collected her second Player of the Week award of the season after recording a pair of Summit League singles victories during the final weekend of the regular season. Against Fort Wayne, Magni won in straight sets (3 and 3) over Alina Schibol at No. 3 singles. In SDSU's win over Western Illinois, Magni was victorious (1 and 0) against Arianna Demos at No. 2 singles. Magni closed the regular season on a five-match win streak and with victories in nine of her last 10 matches. She has a team-best 6-1 singles record against league opposition.
