Fort Wayne’s Sato Named #SummitWTN Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Fort Wayne's Mayu Sato was named The Summit League's Women's Tennis Player of the Week following her performance March 31-April 6.

Sato collected her third Player of the Week honor of the season after winning three matches at No. 1 singles during Summit League action. Against Denver, Sato rallied for a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 triumph over Maureen Slattery to account for the Mastodons point in the match against the nation's No. 67 ranked team. Facing Omaha's Michelle Lo, Sato scored a 7-5, 6-3 victory in IPFW's match victory. She also posted a straight-set win over South Dakota's Milica Pavlovic (3 and 0) and teamed with Marcy Huck for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles in the 'Dons 6-1 match win. Sato improved to 22-4 in dual match play this season.
