USD’s Minogue, NDSU’s Menke Collect Weekly #SummitSB Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. –South Dakota junior Yvon Minogue has been named Summit League Player of the Week and North Dakota State senior Krista Menke earns the league's Pitcher of the Week award after their performances April 27-May 3, marking the final award of the 2015 season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK          
Yvon Minogue, South Dakota

Yvon Minogue is named Summit League Player of the Week for the third time this season and the third time of her career after guiding South Dakota to a perfect 7-0 week. Minogue hit .556 (15-for-27) while driving in seven runs, including a game-tying home run in the seventh inning of a 4-3 win against Kansas City. The junior had three 3-hit games and three 2-hit games in helping the Coyotes wrap-up the second seed for the upcoming Summit League Softball Championships. Minogue finishes the season as the league's leader in batting average (.481) and broke The Summit League record for hits in a season with 87 and doubles in a season with 26.

Krista Menke is named Summit League Pitcher of the Week for a record ninth time this season and 19th time in her career after leading her team to a three-game sweep of IUPUI. Menke tossed her fourth no-hitter this season and the fifth of her career in a 1-0 win on Saturday, a victory that clinched The Summit League regular season title for the fourth consecutive season. The senior matched her career high in the game with 16 strikeouts, marking the 21st time she has reached double-figure strikeouts in 2015. Menke finishes the season as the league's leader in strikeouts (339) and wins (29).
