USD’s Villwock, Omaha’s Schochenmaier Named #SummitWSOC Players of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota forward Sammie Villwock was named Summit League Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Omaha goalkeeper Katlyn Schochenmaier collected the league's Defensive Player of the Week award for their performances Aug. 31-Sept. 6.

SAMMIE VILLWOCK, SOUTH DAKOTA

  • Garnered first career Offensive Player of the Week award
  • Scored first collegiate hat trick and second in The Summit League this season
  • Totaled seven points, playing a part in each goal in USD's 4-3 overtime victory vs. Green Bay
  • Scored the golden goal and each of the Coyotes' final three goals in the match
  • Currently tied for second in The Summit League in goals (three) and tied for third in points (seven)

KATLYN SCHOCHENMAIER, OMAHA

  • Earned first career Defensive Player of the Week award
  • Faced 27 shots and made career-high 15 saves to tie school record in draw against North Dakota
  • Collected 18 saves and recorded a .900 save pct. in 155 minutes over two appearances during week
  • Became Omaha's first Summit League Defensive Player of the Week honoree
