WIU’s Neaveill and USD’s Gupton Claim First Swimmer of the Week Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. – Western Illinois's Chris Neaveill was named Summit League Men's Swimmer of the Week while South Dakota's Hannah Gupton earned Women's Swimmer of the Week award for their performances during the week of Oct. 3-9. The awards mark the initial weekly honors of the season.

CHRIS NEAVEILL, WESTERN ILLINOIS
Sr.  // Germantown Hills, Ill.

  • Collects his third career Summit League Swimmer of the Week award
  • Senior placed fourth overall at the IUPUI Pentathlon with a time of 4:30.54
  • Placed first in the 100 fly, 5th in the 100 back, 6th in the 100 free and 8th in the 100 breast
  • His winning time of 51.06 in the 100 fly is the fastest in the league this season

HANNAH GUPTON, SOUTH DAKOTA
So. // Sandy, Ore.

  • Named Summit League Swimmer of the Week for the first time in her career
  • Sophomore claimed her first two individual victories of the season
  • She earned three victories over the weekend, two individual and one relay
  • Posted winning times of 1:06.47 in the 100 fly, 2:32.81 in the 200 fly and a 2:01.65 in the 200 medley relay
